Three-Dimensional Transesophageal Echocardiography in Native Valve Endocarditis: A Case Report and Similarities Between Echocardiography and Surgical Findings

نویسندگان

چکیده

Native valve bacterial endocarditis is an uncommon, complex, and highly morbid disease that requires prolonged clinical treatment challenging surgical interventions. Transthoracic transesophageal echocardiography are paramount assessment tools whose findings included in the diagnostic criteria. Three-dimensional shows further realistic imaging details. Here we present a case demonstrating role of diagnosis identification its complications to show how advanced techniques may have remarkable resemblance with vivo findings.

Three-dimensional echocardiography of normal and pathologic mitral valve: a comparison with two-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography.

OBJECTIVES This study was done to ascertain whether three-dimensional echocardiography can facilitate the diagnosis of mitral valve abnormalities. BACKGROUND The value of the additional information provided by three-dimensional echocardiography compared with two-dimensional multiplane transesophageal echocardiography for evaluation of the mitral valve apparatus has not been assessed. METHOD...

Diagnostic value of harmonic transthoracic echocardiography in native valve infective endocarditis: comparison with transesophageal echocardiography

BACKGROUND Although echocardiography has been incorporated into the diagnostic algorithm of patients with suspected infective endocarditis (IE), systematic usage in clinical practice remains ill defined. To determine the diagnostic accuracy of detecting vegetations using harmonic transthoracic echocardiography (hTTE) as compared to transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) in patients with an inte...
